I love creating illustrations!
Below are some examples of characters I have created using Adobe Illustrator.
These little critters were created for the Playschool located in Hope Vale, Queensland.
Below are the characters I created for the Good to Great Schools Australia's Music department.
I was a given a personality for each of the "notes" and here is what I came up with.
I also created superheroes for the Lightning Maths curriculum.
With each year, the characters evolve to appeal to the learners' age bracket.
Various facial expressions used to help children better understand emotions.
These illustrations were part of a Feelings Chart poster
Below are the 5 characters I created for the UNSW TPO Biology course.
These 5 scientists were used throughout the course to help with student engagement
The characters below were created for the UNSW TPO Avionic and Aerodynamic courses.
My task was to create characters with a variety of ethnicity.
As a skilled illustrator, I also like to use Photoshop to colour my drawings.
Below are animal faces I created for the startup company VP4A.
This cute little chick below was created for NSW Hens Rescue organisation.
The 4 characters below were commissioned for an English learning program.
They were sketched from photographs provided, scanned and coloured in Adobe Illustrator.
And sometimes, good old coloured pencils are the only way to go!
This adorable bird was based on a real lorikeet named Kiwi.
This illustration is now used on all the products sold by Kiwi's New Life Bird Rescue.
Back in 2001 I was commissioned to work on a book featuring real life character Super Hubert. The story was about a sick young boy, who through Super Hubert's friendship, becomes a magician of his own, rids himself of his illness and defeats the bad guys!
These cat portraits caught the eye of an aspiring writer named Anne Cunningham and two of them were used in her book titled:
Marmalade's Book of Cats: Australian Writing and Art
Below are preliminary sketches that show how I construct my illustrations.
These were drawn for a book intended for children with learning difficulties, and explained that if you need to go, - don't wait! :D
